Joe Cozart, Jr., M.Ed. is a Ph.D. candidate in science education at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia (UGA), scheduled to receive his Ph.D. in 2009, and is a graduate teaching assistant at the UGA Technology Training Center and a teacher and course developer at the Georgia Virtual School. As Director of Training & Development, Joe is focused on providing cutting-edge technology in the development of the online education program at the OpXGroup.
Joe brings numerous aspects of experience in teaching and course development in interactive whiteboards, document cameras, wireless tablets, and podcasting and student response systems; including teaching classes with synchronous teacher interaction (like live online chats) and also creating teacher-less course, teaching hybrid courses using course mail, discussion, assignment submission, feedback and grading, and developing modules that include the creation of an online component full of course resources, calendar, blog, and mail features.
Joe received a Bachelor of Science Education in 2003 and a Master of Science Education in 2005 from the University of Georgia. Joe has served as a student athlete advisor and counselor and tutor and is an active participant in numerous student affairs programs at the University of Georgia.
